On behalf of Sports Writers Association of Nigeria,SWAN,Gombe state chapter i wish to congratulate our male basketball team GOMBE BULLS for emerging as runnners up and grabbing a continental ticket at the just concluded National Super 8 in Kano.
GOMBE BULLS you have made us proud for defeating mighty Kano pillars at the group stage before gallantly loosing against them in the final.
SWAN GOMBE also appreciates all stakeholders who have supported the club in one way or the other especially the state government under the leadership of sports loving Governor,Dr. Ibrahim Hassan Dankwambo (OON),Alh Bello Suleiman, state commission chairman and indeed, State Commissioner of Youth Empowermen,Mal. Farouk Yarma t who nurtured GOMBE BULLS.
We however, appeal to the state government to ensure adequate funding and support to GOMBE BULLS for them to prepare well for the the continental engagement.
