SWAN GOMBE REJOICES WITH GOMBE BULLS FOR QUALIFYING TO THE FIBAACC, COMMENDS GOV.DANKWAMBO FOR SUPPORT
Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN),Gombe state chapter has congratulated Gombe Bulls Basket Ball team for securing one of the two tickets for the 32nd FIBA AFRICA CHAMPIONS CUP 2017 scheduled for Tunisia.
Gombe Bulls came second at the just concluded FIBA AFRICA ZONE 3 QUALIFIERS in Lagos where they won silver medal with Kano pillars the winners.
Chairman Gombe Swan, Halilu Mohammed Teli, in a statement said Gombe Bulls are going continental for the first time in history within a shotest period of time, a situation that would not be unconnected with the solid foundation led by the pioneer chairman of the Sports Commission and the relentless support from Governor Dankwambo.
Teli added that over the times Gombe Bulls have shown hunger for laurels in all their outings.
He also applauded the technical crew under coach Abdulrahaman, the ever supportive chairman of the Sports commission Alh Bello Suleiman, backroom staff and all stakeholders for contributing towards the success stories recorded so far
While commending the sports loving governor, Ibrahim Hassan Dankwambo for always identifying with Gombe Bulls, Swan Gombe appeal for release of funds for good preparations as the championship will commence in less than a month; 11th to 20th of December.
The statement also called on corporate organisations, financial institutions and telecommunications companies operating in the state to contribute their quota for a successful outing in Tunisia
