The newly elected chairman of the Gombe state Football Association (FA) has vowed to restructured the football body for the overall development of the round leather game.
In his inaugural speech at the Abmar Hall in Gombe venue for the election, Yakubu Sarma said to achieve this he would carry every stakeholder along.
"Let me assure you ,i will work hand in hand with all stakeholders so that we will bring the needed change as far as football is concerned in the state".
Sarma expressed appreciation to the delegates for the confidence reposed in him and assured not to disappoint them.
He also pledged to tackle the issue of hooliganism at venues of football matches." We are not going to condone any act of hooliganism ,we shall work together with club owners and relevant stakeholders in fighting the menace which is a cog in the wheel for football development.
The FA boss further assured to look into grassroot football where young talents would be hunted ,nurtured and supported in the interest of promoting and developing the game.
Yakubu Sarma applauded the media especially SWAN in promoting sporting activities in the state and promised to work in synergy with them in order to achieve set targets.
