Gov.Inuwa Yahaya sympathizes with victims of flood in Dukku and Nafada LGs;promises quick intervention



Gombe state Governor, Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya has received briefings on the reported flood disaster that wrecked havoc on some communities at Malala and its environs in Dukku as well as others in Nafada local government areas as a result of over flow of River Gongola, following heavy downpour.

The Governor who expressed his heartfelt condolences to the family of a woman who lost her life as a result of the flood, also symphatized with all those who lost their property and other material resources.

According to his Image Maker ,Ismaila Uba Misilli ,the Governor directed the State Emergency Management Agency, SEMA and other relevant bodies to immediately move in and provide succour to the victims to cushion the effect of the disaster.

He also asked the agency to immediately undertake an on the spot assessment of the level of devastation in the affected areas of Malala, Kunde, Gombe Abba, Dukkuyel, Wuro-Tale, Hashidu, Lafiya, Jamari and Zaune in Dukku Local Government area as well as in Nafada and environs.

He assured of his administration's commitment towards the wellbeing of the citizenry, adding that Government will offer assistance to minimize the suffering of the affected persons, just as he called on the National Emergency Management Agency, NEMA to also come to the aid of the victims of the natural disaster.

He however urged the people to heed to flash flood warnings and avoid flood-prone areas as a preventive measure.
