Security Meeting: Gombawa Urges To Be Law Abiding And Support Security Agencies For A Crime Free State.



Gombe State Governor, Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya has hosted the state security council meeting at the Government House.

The meeting, which lasted  for more than 2 hours, was attended by heads of various security agencies in the state, including the Commissioner of Police, Commander, 301 Artillery Brigade, Director,  State Security Service,  State Controllers of Nigeria Custom,  Immigration and Prison Services as well as Commandant, Nigeria Security and Civil Defence.

Briefing Newsmen at the end of the meeting, The state Commissioner of Police, CP Bello Makwashi said the council discussed among other things, the security situation in the state and the need  to review the strategies with a view to improving.

 “we just rose from a security council meeting with his Excellency the Governor and heads of various security agencies.

“ Although Gombe is calm, but not withstanding,  we don’t take things for granted. So from time to time there is need for us to review the strategies and see how we can improve on the security of lives and property of the people of the state,” he said.

CP Makwashi called on the public to have confidence on the  Police and other security agencies towards reducing the rate of crime in the state and country at large.

According to him, " although no society is crime free,  the most important thing is the ability to control it. We have mapped out strategies and are ready to confront any breach head on".

“We are committed to our core mandate and we encourage the people in the state to be law abiding and support the security agencies in their efforts to provide adequate security ,” he stated .
