The economy of Gombe State will soon receive a boost as Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya's administration is set to resuscitate the moribund Manto Processing Company.
The State Deputy Governor Dr. Manassah Daniel Jatau who led a team of consultants from Edginton Ltd in company of Emir of Akko Alh. Umar Atiku to inspect the plant at Kumo,Akko LGA, expressed optimism that if resuscitated the company would provide a brighter prospect for more job opportunities to the teeming unemployed youths and boost the Internally Generated Revenue of the state.
Dr. Manassah Daniel Jatau expressed dismay over the neglect of an economically viable project like Manto Processing Company in spite of its potentiality of putting smiles on the faces of the people, especially tomatoes farmers who have been suffering from poor marketing and lack of storage facilities.
He commended the factory Manager for being up to date about the company's operation, decades after the moribundity of the company.
In his remarks, the Consultants Mr. Guido Firreti, explained that the company has numerous positive prospects that could help in minimising loses of tomatoes farmers resulting from its perishability ,poor storage and markets.
Mr Firreti said the company could be made fully functional but with little changes of some of the components that are obsolete to allow for the use of modern equipments.
The Emir of Akko, Alhaji Umar Mohammad Atiku,thanked Governor Muhammad Inuwa Yahaya and his Deputy, Dr. Manassah Daniel Jatau for their concern and foresight towards the advancement of Gombe State.
He described them as the people with the right perspective for issues of development, calling on his subjects and the entire people of Gombe State to give them the needed support.
