Governor Inuwa Yahaya, other Governors in attendance, as Osibanjo presides over NEC meeting
Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya of Gombe State and his counterparts from the 36 states of the federation have attended the National Economic Council meeting held today at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.
The meeting was presided over by Vice President, Professor Yemi Osinbajo, who by the provisions of Nigeria’s Constitution, is the chairman of NEC.
This meeting is the second since the inauguration of President Muhammadu Buhari’s cabinet for the second term.
The NEC meeting, held monthly, deliberates on the coordination of the economic planning efforts and economic programmes of the various levels of government.
Governor Inuwa Yahaya had earlier yesterday evening attended the meeting of the Nigerian Governors' Forum where they brainstormed on a number of issues ahead of today's NEC.
