NEDC Visit: Gov Inuwa Yahaya Assures To Make Necessary Provisions For Smooth Operation Of The Commission

Gov Inuwa Yahaya of Gombe state has expressed his administration's  willingness to make necessary provision for the smooth  operation of the North East Development Commission (NEDC).

The Governor was speaking at the Government House when he received the leadership of the commission under Maj-Gen Paul Tarfa(Rtd).

He said the state was also affected by insurgency and its toll on the socio -economic development of the state.
Gov Inuwa added that some IDPs  from neighbouring states had settled  in the state ,and thanked the Commission for the familiarization visit .
Earlier, the chairman of the North East Development Commission (NEDC), Maj-Gen PaulbTarfa (Rtd)said the visit is aimed at soliciting the cooperation and collaboration of Gombe State Government for a successful operation in the state and the region.
He said the commission was ready to commence work at its headquarters in Maiduguri and planned to establish state office in Gombe and other states in the region.
“Gombe State is critical stakeholder in the region, currently hosting a lot of Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs ) in the host communities.
“We are soliciting your cooperation and collaboration to start the operation ahead of us.
“To seek for premises on which we should establish our office, either by donation or peice of land on which we would erect our office, take off facilities and assets,” he stated.
He further expressed the Commission readiness to key into state government’s policy for the development of the state and the region.
