Billiri Power Sub Station: Gov Inuwa Yahaya Assures Speedy Completion



Few days after receiving the report of the taskforce on improvement of power supply in Gombe state, Governor Muhammudu Inuwa Yahaya has made good his promise to take the state out of darkness.

To this end, the Governor was in Billiri Local Government Area along side a team from Transmission Company of Nigeria, TCN  on assessment visit to the abandoned  power sub station.

The TCN team was in Billiri at the instance of the Managing Director of the agency to take a stock of the facility with a view to resuming work following a recent visit of Governor Inuwa Yahaya to the TCN .

The Governor, who was represented by his Deputy, Dr. Manassah Daniel Jatau said the state government will do all it takes to support and encourage the Transmission Company to deliver the project on schedule.

He thanked the people of Billiri for the support shown to the project so far, enjoining them to judiciously safeguard the project site against vandals.

The head of delegation of the Transmission Company of Nigeria, Engr. Ebenezer Fadola said his team was in Billiri as a follow up to the visit of Governor Inuwa Yahaya to TCN where he made a case for the resumption of work at the substation.

He said the team has now concluded all findings concerning the project and their report ready for onward submission to the Managing Director of the Company.

He disclosed that the World Bank is also keen on seeing to the actualization of the project.

When completed, the Billiri power sub station will serve the whole of Gombe South and Akko Local Government Area of the state in addition to boosting supply in the state.
