Gona Emirate Gets New Emir



Gombe State Governor, Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya has approved the appointment of Umar Abdulkadir Bappah as the new Emir of Gona in Akko Local Government Area.

The appointment is in exercise of the powers conferred in the Governor under the creation of Emirates, Districts, villages and wards as well as appointment and deposition of Emirs and Chiefs and base on the recommendation of the kingmakers of the Emirate.

In a letter signed by the Permanent Secretary Ministry for Local Governments and Chieftaincy Affairs, Alhaji Mohammed Manu Malala, the Governor congratulated the Emir and wished him success in his new assignment.

Responding, the new Emir promised to work for the growth and development of Gona Emirate in particular and Gombe state in general.

He thanked Governor Yahaya for providing level playing ground that led to his emergence as the Emir, promising to justify the confidence reposed in him by carrying everyone along.

Born on the 16th of October 1981, the new Emir is a graduate of Business Administration and Management and was until his appointment a staff of Jaiz Bank  Gombe branch.
