The Secretary to the Gombe State Government, Professor Ibrahim Abubakar Njodi has described the deplorable condition of the Gombe Media Corporation as pathetic and unacceptable.
The Gombe chief scribe who stated this while on a facility tour of the broadcast station said as the image maker of the government no amount spent to revitalize the station will be too big.
He said his visit was at the instance of Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya who he said is determined to turn around the fortunes of the station.
"We are not part of the mess but the narrative concerning handling of government property has to change" the SSG said.
He called on the staff of the broadcast outfit not to despair as government is doing everything necessary to ensure a better working condition for them as well as all workers in the state.
Earlier speaking while conducting the SSGand his entourage round, the state Commissioner of Information and Culture, Ibrahim Alhassan Kwami said broadcast facilities at the station are obsolete and can no longer meet with the dynamics of modern broadcasting.
He thanked Governor Inuwa Yahaya for the interest so far shown to commit to the welfare of the broadcasting station in general.
