The Executive Chairman of Gombe State Sports Commission (GSSC) Alhaji Hamza Adamu Soye has applauded Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya for graciously approving and realising fund for the 2020 National Sports Festival Zonal Elimination currently taking place in Maiduguri.
In exclusive interview, the GSSC boss described the Inuwa Yahaya led administration as sports oriented saying since the inception of the incumbent administration athletes under the supervision of the commission have participated in several competitions both within and outside the side.
" On behalf of the management and staff of the commission I want to thank his Excellency Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya the Garmuwan Buhari for his relentless support both financially and morally to the commission, this is a clear testimony of his passion and love for sporting activities in the state". Hamza Adamu Soye said.
On our part the sports administrator echoed" we would justify the confidence reposed in us by winning laurels"
Team Gombe had so far walked over Bauchi and Taraba in handball and Adamawa in football.
They lost 0-3 to hosts Borno in hockey as the female beach volleyball team beat Borno 2-0.
